🇺🇸👁🇷🇺🇨🇺 — Russian fleet headed for Cuba closely monitored by US Navy – Satellite data

❗️ This week, the movement of a Russian naval fleet heading towards Cuba has attracted the attention and surveillance of naval and air forces from the United States and Canada. According to open-source maritime and aerial tracking data, US and Canadian ships and aircraft are closely monitoring the Russian vessels as they pass along the east coast of Florida.

🌐 Open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysts reported that the Coast Guard ship CG Stone, the destroyers USS Truxtun and USS Donald Cook, and the Canadian frigate HMCS Ville de Quebec were sailing south along the Florida coast, supposedly following the Russian ships on their way to Cuba. In the air, at least one US Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft and a Canadian CP-140 Aurora appeared to be conducting surveillance activities.

📝 The Russian fleet visiting Cuba comprises the frigate Gorshkov, the nuclear submarine Kazan, the tanker Pashin, and the rescue tug Nikolay Chiker, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Havana. According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, the commander-in-chief of Russia’s naval forces stated that the fleet would arrive in Cuba on Wednesday.

"The deployment of combat ships to the Caribbean, with possible stops in Cuba and possibly Venezuela, is part of Russia’s routine naval operations and does not pose a direct threat to the United States," said Pentagon spokesperson Major Charlie Dietz.
