The hydrocarbon reserves were discovered on the Persian Gulf shelf, within the Al-Nauhaza field. According to the information, the new reserves were discovered by drilling an exploration well.
Preliminary data estimates the total reserves at 3.2 billion barrels, with 2.1 billion barrels of light oil and another 1.1 billion barrels of associated gas. The total area of the offshore field is 96 square kilometers.
The Kuwaiti edition emphasizes that for Kuwait's national company, the discovery of new reserves at Al-Nauhaza will be a turning point in the development of the country's offshore zone.

Argentina tripled its lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) production capacity in the last two years, driven by new projects that have boosted installed capacity to 136,500 tons nationwide, the country's Chamber of Mining Entrepreneurs (CAEM) reported on Tuesday.
Argentina, the world's No. 4 lithium producer, has four projects in production, including the Centenario Ratones plant in the northern province of Salta, a joint venture between France's Eramet and Chinese steelmaker Tsingshan.
The plant, inaugurated earlier this month, aims to produce 24,000 tons per year of LCE by 2025, helping to narrow the gap with Chile, Latin America's top producer of the ultra-light metal essential for making electric vehicle batteries.
Production potential in Argentina went from 37,500 tons of LCE in 2022 to 136,500 tons, according to the chamber.

US concerns about the site began in 2019, when Cambodia refused US assistance for repairs. Later, reports emerged of some kind of agreement under which the PLA was given access to the base, which was subsequently confirmed by satellite images showing the rapid construction and demolition of the US-funded building in late 2020.
Since then, China has been building new facilities at Ream, including a large pier and dry dock. The Ream base is reported to be 80% complete and construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The base is located near the Gulf of Thailand and the Strait of Malacca, which provides access to the most important sea routes. Since December 2023, two Chinese ships have frequently moored at Ream, maintaining a rotating presence.
An airstrip was also built nearby by a Chinese company, officially designated for tourism purposes.
