In Statement, it said:
I condemn the murder of Jamshid Sharmahd by the Iranian regime in the strongest possible terms.
He was abducted to Iran from Dubai, held for years without a fair trial & has now been killed.
I offer my most profound sympathy to his family for this terrible loss.
We have lobbied tirelessly on Jamshid Sharmahd’s behalf and sent a high-ranking team of the Federal Foreign Office to Tehran several times. We made it crystal clear to Tehran time and again that the execution of a German national would have severe consequences.

🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡- Ukraine has begun building three massive lines of defenses in the Zaporozhye and Dnepr regions to defend against attacks from the east.
Ukrainian authorities claim the first line is almost complete, satellite imagery confirms their claim. The first line runs along the Donbass borders. A second line is being built from Pokrovskoe to Pavlograd. And the final line of defense is being constructed in front of the Dnepr river and its cities.
The construction of these lines indicate that Ukraine is preparing for the fall of Pokrovsk and with it the likely fall of the Donbass.

The Irish parliament passed hate crime legislation on Wednesday evening, which includes within it a redefinition of gender based on transgender ideology.
Ireland’s Criminal Justice Bill passed the Dáil Éireann legislature in Dublin on Tuesday by 78 votes to 52.
The bill will mean that for the first time in Irish history, there will be increased prison sentences for crimes which were found to have involved an element of hatred.
Under the law, a hate crime element is defined as having been motivated by so-called “protected characteristics” such as race, colour, nationality, religion, national or ethnic origin, descent, gender, sexual characteristics, sexual orientation, or disability.
The legislation was significantly watered down last month, with a vast swath of provisions removed from the bill criminalising so-called hate speech, which even included prison time for merely “possessing material likely to incite violence or hatred”.

German carmaker Audi will close its Brussels plant on Feb. 28 next year, the company’s management announced at a special works council meeting Tuesday.
Management added it is still in talks with a potential buyer to take over the Belgian plant, which has been facing the ax for several months due to poor sales and a crisis affecting its owner, the Volkswagen Group.
No layoffs are expected until the beginning of 2025, and the plant’s management continues to talk with a potential investor who might take over the factory, although not necessarily to continue making passenger vehicles. A savior could emerge from the commercial vehicle sector, for example, with unions suggesting a manufacturer of tractors.
While unprecedented, however, the closures would come as no surprise, as the automaker is facing a sharp decline in sales in China, its core market, and is also being challenged by Chinese competitors entering the European market.

🇵🇦Panama Canal calls LNG vessels for a comeback after 65% traffic decline
The Panama Canal aims to regain vessel traffic carrying U.S. liquefied natural gas to Asia as demand in that market rises and a new reservation system allows shippers to lock in slots, following a 65% decline in the transit of its second-most important segment.
A U.S. LNG switch to Europe in the aftermath of Russia-Ukraine war, combined with long waiting times and expensive fees to transit through Panama due to severe drought, have kept many LNG ships out of the canal.
Many gas exporters continue to take longer routes around South America even after the waterway's authority lifted the restrictions this year. The canal is the shortest route to Asia for U.S. gas exporters, whose sales to Japan, China, South Korea and India have grown substantially in the last decade.

🇨🇳 💻 ⚛️ — China ‘poised to lead’ creation of quantum-proof telecoms security protocol
China is expected to play a leading role in creating a “quantum-proof” communication protocol, after scientists from the country presented a design blueprint at a major international conference on telecoms standards.
The protocol aims to help the world fend off potential attacks from quantum computers that could break traditional communication encryption methods.
A scalable quantum computer once developed could compute exponentially faster than a conventional computer so much so that it could leave all conventional encryption obsolete.

"This year, cosplay is banned. It is said to be because of the large number of people and to prevent stampedes. But maybe it is because this is a Japanese character. Everyone is 'patriotic'."
