🇮🇪 Ireland Passes Hate Crime Legislation with Woke Redefinition of Gender

The Irish parliament passed hate crime legislation on Wednesday evening, which includes within it a redefinition of gender based on transgender ideology.

Ireland’s Criminal Justice Bill passed the Dáil Éireann legislature in Dublin on Tuesday by 78 votes to 52.

The bill will mean that for the first time in Irish history, there will be increased prison sentences for crimes which were found to have involved an element of hatred.

Under the law, a hate crime element is defined as having been motivated by so-called “protected characteristics” such as race, colour, nationality, religion, national or ethnic origin, descent, gender, sexual characteristics, sexual orientation, or disability.

The legislation was significantly watered down last month, with a vast swath of provisions removed from the bill criminalising so-called hate speech, which even included prison time for merely “possessing material likely to incite violence or hatred”.

🇩🇪🇧🇪 Audi Brussels to close in early 2025, signaling deepening VW crisis

German carmaker Audi will close its Brussels plant on Feb. 28 next year, the company’s management announced at a special works council meeting Tuesday.

Management added it is still in talks with a potential buyer to take over the Belgian plant, which has been facing the ax for several months due to poor sales and a crisis affecting its owner, the Volkswagen Group.

No layoffs are expected until the beginning of 2025, and the plant’s management continues to talk with a potential investor who might take over the factory, although not necessarily to continue making passenger vehicles. A savior could emerge from the commercial vehicle sector, for example, with unions suggesting a manufacturer of tractors.

While unprecedented, however, the closures would come as no surprise, as the automaker is facing a sharp decline in sales in China, its core market, and is also being challenged by Chinese competitors entering the European market.

China is expected to play a leading role in creating a “quantum-proof” communication protocol, after scientists from the country presented a design blueprint at a major international conference on telecoms standards.

The protocol aims to help the world fend off potential attacks from quantum computers that could break traditional communication encryption methods.

A scalable quantum computer once developed could compute exponentially faster than a conventional computer so much so that it could leave all conventional encryption obsolete.

"Comrades in Arms, Citizens of Venezuela:

We address you at this crucial moment with the seriousness and responsibility demanded by the situation facing our homeland. We are the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), an institution committed to defending the country, sovereignty, and above all, the Constitution. This commitment is engraved in each of our hearts and sworn before our people.

On July 28, 2024, the Venezuelan people exercised their sovereign right at the polls, as enshrined in Article 5 of our Constitution, which establishes: ‘Sovereignty resides inalienably in the people.’ This principle is unbreakable. It is the people who exercise this sovereignty directly, from whom all state organs emanate, and these are obligated to submit to their will. No force, power, or authority has legitimacy to contravene this principle without attacking the very essence of our Republic.

As members of the FANB, we witnessed the electoral process and ensured the transparency and security of the vote through Plan República. We can attest that the citizen Edmundo González Urrutia was elected President of the Republic by the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people. This result not only reflects the popular will but also our unwavering commitment to democracy and the rule of law.

Article 228 is clear: electing the President of the Republic is an exclusive right of the Venezuelan people, exercised through universal, direct, and secret suffrage. The people chose Edmundo González Urrutia as their president, and this mandate is legitimate, indisputable, and sacred.

We will not allow any force, regardless of origin or influence, to challenge the will expressed by the Venezuelan people. Our mission as FANB is clearly defined in Article 328: we are a professional institution, without political affiliation, exclusively serving the nation, never any person or political faction. Our duty is to guarantee Venezuela's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. We are called to defend the constitutional and democratic order, with discipline, obedience, and subordination, but always within the framework of the Constitution.

However, in this dark moment of our history, some attempt to subvert the popular will through force and repression, using legal schemes that have no valid basis. In such cases, Article 333 gives us a clear mandate: ‘This Constitution will not lose its validity if disregarded by an act of force.’ Every citizen, whether in authority or not, must collaborate in restoring the full validity of the Constitution if it is threatened.

As soldiers of the homeland, we are bound to defend it against any attempt at subversion, even if it comes from the high military command itself. Article 350 clearly establishes that we must ignore any regime, legislation, or authority that opposes democratic values and undermines human rights. It is our patriotic duty to disregard and confront any order that seeks to subvert the popular will.

If any authority, regardless of rank, intends to impose an illegitimate regime or usurp the popular mandate, the FANB will not recognize it and will act in defense of the Constitution and the Venezuelan people.

We call on all Venezuelan citizens to exercise their right to peaceful and massive demonstrations throughout the national territory. Your voice is the true strength of this nation, and your will must be respected.

We trust in God and the justice of our cause. The FANB is prepared to defend the peace, constitutional order, and sovereignty of the Venezuelan people with integrity, honor, and courage.
