🇦🇷💸🗳💥 — The Argentine government cannot stop the rise, and the dollar soared to $1,080 two days before the elections.
Despite a wave of operations in the microcenter of Buenos Aires and massive intervention by the Central Bank, the parallel exchange rate broke record values again, and the exchange rate gap comfortably exceeded 180%.
All tools to contain devaluation have been exhausted, but the devaluation process is gaining momentum on its own. To postpone the devaluation of the official dollar, the government unified the exchange rates of the dollar for credit card purchases, wire transfers, and savings into one (with more taxes).
They also implemented the "soybean dollar" system for mining, fishing, the automotive industry, Vaca Muerta oil companies, and SMEs, allowing a limit on the export liquidation of up to 25% at the CCL (Contado con Liquidación) rate.

The SPR today contains less than half the crude it had at its peak just over a decade ago. At about 350 million barrels, it's at its lowest since 1983.
To put what’s left into perspective, the US released about 270 million barrels over the last two years to cap oil prices. If the SPR is a revolver, it has a final round left in the chamber — and that’s it.
