🇺🇸▶️❗️🇧🇷⚖️ — Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has become the target of a lawsuit in the United States, filed by the Trump Media and Technology Group Corp., linked to the American president, and the video platform Rumble

📝 The companies accuse the Supreme Court justice of:

➡️illegally attempting to impose “Brazilian censorship laws” on companies based in the United States;

➡️violating freedom of speech, a right guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. In the document, the companies state that Moraes ordered the suspension of accounts belonging to a Brazilian political commentator exiled in the U.S. The individual was not identified. They also cite the suspension of nearly 150 accounts critical of Lula;

➡️violating the CDA (Communications Decency Act). This legislation regulates internet content in the U.S. It includes Section 230, which exempts online service providers from liability for user-generated content;

➡️exercising jurisdiction beyond Brazil by attempting to regulate digital content in the United States. According to the companies, the gag orders issued by Moraes cannot be enforced in the U.S. “No extraterritorial decree or judicial overreach from abroad can override the freedoms protected by the U.S. Constitution and law,” they argue;

➡️violating U.S. sovereignty by attempting to impose sanctions and fines on American companies without adhering to international treaties between the two countries, such as the MLAT (Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty).

‼️ The companies claim that if Rumble does not comply with the order, Moraes could pressure companies like Apple and Google to remove the Rumble app from their stores, harming the platform’s global operations.

🖥 Although not directly affected, Truth Social, Trump's social media network, states that it relies on Rumble’s technology for video hosting, which would negatively impact it if the platform’s operations were disrupted.

⚖️ Here are the requests made in the lawsuit:

➡️ a declaration that Moraes’ orders cannot be enforced in the U.S.;

➡️a ban on companies like Apple and Google removing the Rumble app due to orders from the Supreme Court;

➡️egal protection to ensure that Rumble and TMTG are not forced to comply with foreign censorship.

🇺🇸▶️❗️🇧🇷⚖️ — Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has become the target of a lawsuit in the United States, filed by the Trump Media and Technology Group Corp., linked to the American president, and the video platform Rumble 📝 The companies accuse the…
🇺🇸▶️🇧🇷⚖️ — The CEO of the video platform Rumble, Chris Pavlovski, made a post on the social network 𝕏 following the revelation that his company is filing a lawsuit alongside former President Donald Trump’s media conglomerate against Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes:

"Hello, Alexandre [de Moraes]. Rumble will not comply with your illegal orders. Instead, we will see you in court. Sincerely, Chris Pavlovski."

💬 The businessman refers to court orders he considers "illegal," which were issued under secrecy by Moraes against his company. These orders involved the blocking of accounts linked to Brazilian journalist Allan dos Santos and other digital influencers.

➡️ Among other measures, Rumble faced the risk of heavy fines and service interruptions in Brazil if it failed to comply or disclosed the details of the rulings. In 2023, the company decided to cease operations in the country but recently resumed its activities.

➡️ Trump's media company and Rumble are suing Moraes for allegedly "violating American sovereignty" through his rulings in the Brazilian judicial system.

🇺🇸🇪🇺❗️🪨☢️🇷🇺🇨🇳🇬🇧 Financial Times | US and European energy groups at risk from uranium supply crunch | Metal used to power reactors faces shortages as demand for nuclear power rises | February 17, 2025:

"US and European energy companies are at growing risk from a uranium supply crunch as demand surges for nuclear power to fuel everything from household electricity to data centres, industry figures have warned.

The threat of future shortages comes as the world’s biggest producer of the metal used to power nuclear reactors, Kazakhstan, sells more to Russia and China while less is going to the US and Europe.

“Russian and Chinese players have been very keen to secure access to resources in central Asia and Africa, creating a very aggressive competitive environment,” said Benjamin Godwin at Prism Strategic Intelligence."

🇷🇺🤝🇸🇾🕊📍🇸🇾📰 Bloomberg | Russia Set to Keep Reduced Military Presence in Post-Assad Syria | Continued presence in Syria has been strategic goal for Putin | Putin spoke to Syrian counterpart for first time last week | February 17, 2025:

"Russia will likely keep a reduced military presence in Syria, achieving a key objective for President Vladimir Putin after the downfall of the Assad regime he backed, according to people familiar with the matter.

Moscow is close to a deal with the new Syrian government that would allow it to maintain some staff and equipment in the country, the people said, asking not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.

One of the people said Russia hopes to keep the same naval and air bases it used in Syria until current President Ahmed Al-Sharaa led a rebel onslaught that toppled Bashar al-Assad last year.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov didn’t reply to a request seeking comment. It wasn’t immediately possible to verify the information with officials in the transitional government in Syria.

There is no guarantee the current talks will result in an agreement but a phone call between the Syrian president and Putin — the first one ever — on Wednesday shows the momentum is building. A final deal would mark Russia’s second major foreign policy victory just this month after the US said it would start peace talks with Moscow over how to end the war in Ukraine."

🇺🇸 According to the Washington Post, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has signed a memo, ordering senior leaders at the Pentagon and across the U.S. Military to develop plans to cut roughly 40% of the defense budget by 2030, in increments of 8% per year for the next five years. The United States’ defense budget in 2025 was nearly $850 billion, having drastically grown since the mid-2010s due to threats from both China and Russia, who also both continue to increase their annual defense spending. The memo ordered that the proposed cuts be drawn up by February 24th, with only 17 categories of defense spending being prohibited from the cuts by the Trump Administration, which include operations at the U.S-Mexico Border, the modernization of nuclear weapons and missile defense system, and the acquisition of submarines, one-way attack drones and other munitions.

Operation FS was the Imperial Japanese plan to invade and occupy Fiji, American Samoa, Samoa, and New Caledonia in the South Pacific during the Pacific conflict of World War II.

The primary goal of Operation FS was to, following the completion of MO, RY, and MI, cut the supply and communication lines between Australia and the United States, with the goal of reducing or eliminating Australia as a base to threaten Japan's perimeter defenses in the South Pacific.

Operation FS was postponed following the Japanese setback at the Battle of the Coral Sea, then cancelled after the Japanese defeat at the Battle of Midway, following the losses of four Japanese fleet carriers.

🇺🇸🛩‼️🇲🇽🌟 CNN | CIA flying covert drone missions into Mexico to spy on drug cartels | February 18, 2025:

"(CNN) — The CIA under President Donald Trump has been covertly flying MQ-9 Reaper drones over Mexico to spy on drug cartels, current and former officials familiar with the matter told CNN, part of Trump’s dramatic reorientation of national security assets to the US southern border.

The missions, which have not been previously reported, come as the Trump administration moves to treat transnational drug cartels as terrorist organizations — a designation it has yet to officially make.

The MQ-9 drones used for the missions are not currently armed. But they can be equipped with payloads to carry out precision strikes. The US regularly uses them to target suspected terrorists in Syria, Iraq and Somalia.

Some current and former officials say designating cartels as terrorist groups could potentially lay the groundwork for direct US strikes against the cartels and their drug labs in Mexico.

The CIA has flown surveillance drones to hunt cartels inside Mexico before, according to a former and a current US official, under at least one small program that partnered with Mexican authorities."

🇵🇱🗯🇪🇺🚫🔫🕊🗺📰 ZeroHedge | Poland's Security Chief Shares Some Interesting Insight About The Ukrainian Conflict's Endgame | Authored by Andrew Korybko via Substack | February 19, 2025:

"He said that nobody in Europe knows what Trump’s plan actually is, they’re unable to assemble the approximately 100,000 troops that a prolonged peacekeeping mission in Ukraine would require, and Poland still remains reluctant to participate in any such mission even if it’s heavily pressured to do so.

Chief of Poland’s National Security Bureau Dariusz Lukowski gave an interview to Radio ZET on Monday about his country’s position towards the Ukrainian Conflict. According to him, it shouldn’t send peacekeepers to Ukraine, but this still can’t be ruled out in the future despite Prime Minister Donald Tusk once again explicitly saying that it won’t do so. That’s because there’d be a lot of pressure on Poland to get involved if others dispatch their peacekeepers there first, but he’s still unsure whether it’ll happen.

He assessed that Europe as a whole doesn’t have the 100,000 troops ready that would be required for patrolling the over 1,000-kilometer-long frontline for the decade that he expects such a mission to last at minimum. Even if Poland doesn’t participate on the ground, however, he said that it could still “secure the airspace over Ukraine. A form of air policing. Aircraft based in Poland could patrol the airspace of Ukraine.” Such scenarios would naturally depend on the outcome of the Russian-US talks though."
