The Economist: The Trump administration aims to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine by April 30.
"French President Emmanuel Macron is hosting nations in Paris who make up a 'coalition of the willing' in their continued support to Ukraine, and on Thursday he has announced that sanctions on Russia will not be lifted, as unanimously agreed to among participants.
The twenty-seven heads of mostly European states and governments represented there further agreed there will be no easing of sanctions in exchange for a Black Sea ceasefire.
A new Black Sea peace initiative was unveiled by Washington at the Riyadh talks, and agreed to by both warring parties as of Wednesday, and would see Russian food and agricultural sanctions lifted, as well as the reconnection of Russian agricultural banks to the international Swift payment system."

"Kim Jong-un sends another three thousand troops to Russia
The South Korean General Staff reported that North Korea sent about 3,000 more troops to Russia from January to February 2025. Seoul estimates that 11,000 North Koreans have been deployed since the start of military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, of whom about 4,000 have already been killed or wounded.
In addition to manpower, Pyongyang continues to supply Moscow with missiles, artillery and ammunition. South Korea insists that such supplies and military deployments violate international law and "pose a threat to stability in the region." Seoul called on the world community to react more harshly to military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
North Korea itself has not commented on the fact that its military is participating in the war against Ukraine."

The report states that 'Iran is not currently building a nuclear weapon, contrary to previous speculations.
"US intelligence agencies have reaffirmed that there’s no evidence Iran is developing nuclear weapons or that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has reversed his 2003 fatwah that banned the production of weapons of mass destruction.
“The IC continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003,” Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.
Gabbard’s comments were based on the annual threat assessment, which is released by the ODNI with input from all US intelligence agencies. The report did note that there have been more calls inside Iran to reverse the ban on nuclear weapons, which have grown in response to Israeli aggression in the region."

North Korea Tests AI-Equipped Drones, Unveils First Early Warning Aircraft
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un witnessed the testing of “various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide drones” produced by the country’s Unmanned Aerial Technology Complex, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) announced on March 27.
The new drones are capable of “tracking and monitoring different strategic targets and enemy troop activities on the ground and the sea”, while the attack drones will “be used for various tactical attack missions”, KCNA said, noting that both drone systems have been equipped with “new artificial intelligence”.
The photos showed a large reconnaissance drone and shadow airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft.

Estas fuerzas actuarían como disuasorio ante una posible agresión rusa, declaró a la prensa durante una conferencia de prensa posterior a la cumbre de alto nivel de la "Coalición de la Voluntad" para Ucrania, celebrada el jueves en París.
Sin embargo, estas fuerzas de reasentamiento no pretenden ser fuerzas de mantenimiento de la paz, ya que no reemplazarán a las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania ni se desplegarán en primera línea, sino en "ciudades estratégicas" y bases.
Esta propuesta será elaborada por nuestros jefes de Estado Mayor en las próximas semanas para determinar el mapa y el formato de estos despliegues.
"No es unánime", afirmó, "pero no necesitamos la unanimidad para lograrlo".
🇬🇧Emmanuel Macron announced a plan to send “reassurance forces” from “several European countries” based in “certain strategic locations” in Ukraine in the event of a peace treaty with Russia.
These forces would “act as a deterrent against potential Russian aggression," he told reporters during a press conference following a high-stakes "Coalition of the Willing" summit for Ukraine in Paris on Thursday.
However, these reassurance forces “are not intended to be peacekeeping forces” as they will not replace the Ukrainian Armed Forces and will not be positioned on the frontlines but instead in "strategic towns" and bases.
This proposal “will be worked on by our military chiefs of staff” in the coming weeks to determine “the map and format” of these deployments.
"It is not unanimous," he said, "But we do not need unanimity to achieve it."

- Myanmar: 163 dead, 300+ injured
- Thailand: 4 dead, 68 injured
