The idiotic faux intellectuals in the US State Dept thought it would be a wise idea to spend tens of millions of taxayer dollars to fund gender studies and LGTBQIXHDSGSU programs in Afghanistan and Pakistan, both of which are devout Muslim nations where women are charged with adulterery and stoned to death for the crime of getting raped.

I don't talk about it much (because I don't want my lunatic lurkers & trolls mixing in with their lunatic lurkers & trolls) but one of my favorite stories from our recent past is the Reddit GameStop "Apes."

It was my favorite until the entire "system" came together to smack them down, but I don't think they are down & out quite yet - you'll see why at the end of this post.

The thing is, I really, really, really really really really really love me a "little guy smacks down the bully" story, and that's exactly what this was.

It's a little too much to explain here, but while the bullies that most of us have been dealing with over the past several years were The Swamp (DC) and the media, the Apes went all David & Goliath against Wall Street & hedge funds guilty of massive fuckery & manipulation.

And, of course, the hedge funds & wall street got major assistance from, you guessed it - The Swamp and the media - to help smack down the little guys.

The Apes were a bunch of regular folks - truck drivers, waitresses, managers and "our peeps" who got together during lockdowns and started investing.

They formed a crowdsourced community that taught each other advanced investing techniques.

As an MBA who has been a licensed financial advisor and has been trading stocks for 20 yrs and options for 10, I often lurk on the WSB Reddit page for insights because they have really figured out "the game."

But the big boys couldn't have the pleebs getting ahead, especially once they figured out the more exotic ways that the big boys make all of that fat cash (at your expense).

The thing you have to realize, especially in dealing with options, is that every time you make a dollar, someone else loses that dollar.

No, the stock market is no longer "more people buy stocks & price goes up, more sell and it goes down."

The train left that station a long time ago, and much of it is due to massive manipulations via Dark Pools and things that we little people aren't allowed to see, access or even know very much about.

John Stewart covered all of this manipulation- much of it, at least - in his show The Problem on AppleTV.

I just finished watching it an cannot recommend it more highly.

Even if your only exposure to the market is your 401k (or so you think), every American should know just how f%#&@ up this thing that drives so much of our society is.
