The Friday 5.24.24 Shitshow Macro Weekly Wrapup Podcast is out for premium subscribers:

Shitshow Macro post and podcast 9, part 1: Masks Off is now available to all in both formats

Domestic:
-The Harvard Corporation has overruled the faculty and publicly announced that students who were involved with the pro-Hamas encampments will not be graduating.
-Harvard alumni-hiring consultancy firm McKinsey (Mayor Pete’s only real-world work experience) is in hot water this week. The firm built out a “think tank” in its Beijing office and wrote a 300-page book that was delivered to CCP officials on how China could dominate the USA.
-Trump held a rally in the Bronx yesterday, and TDS-afflicted leftists took to the X platform to call the black attendees Nazis, often sharing pictures of Nazi rallies and saying they were the same thing.
-As the cases against Trump fall apart, the media has decided to focus full-bore on the Justice Alito flag issue that I discussed on Monday’s show.
--The Appeal to Heaven flag was commissioned by George Washington, flown as the official maritime flag of our first Navy, and is still the official naval and maritime flag of Massachusetts, apparently, but hoax media gonna hoax media.
--Some lunatic leftist censor Marxists have apparently even edited the Wikipedia page for the flag, removing the history and trying to paint it as insurrectionist. These people are freaking nutbags.
-It came out this week that on May 3rd a US Special Forces Colonel shot a Chechen national who was surreptitiously creeping around the outside of his home in Moore County, NC, and taking pictures with another van that was nearby idling.
--The accomplice escaped, and there are already astroturfing campaigns trying to obfuscate the obvious issues of a Chechen national spying on a USSF Col at his home.
-The Quantico Marine base leadership is in hot water as it has come out that they hid from base personnel and the public that two Jordanian nationals (1 here illegally and the other on an expired student visa) tried to ram their way onto the base.
--Even more strange, the Biden administration is protecting the identities of the pair, but ICE has publicly stated that one was on the terrorist watchlist, had come across the border illegally, and was given an NTA for 2 years in the future.
--It has also come out this week that the Jordanians were just one of a half-dozen different incidents this year where foreign nationals tried to force their way onto USMIL bases.
-Likely vaccinated documentary producer Morgan Spurlock, famous for Super Size Me died of cancer at 53 years old this week. Spurlock famously took great care of his health, which was one reason the named documentary was so shocking that his health deteriorated so quickly.
--Given the “turbo cancers” that are starting to seem highly correlated to the shots, this is a great case to ask if that was the culprit.
-143 Congressional Democrats voted against a bill that would bar non-citizens from voting on Thursday. While the MSM is constantly screeching that we don’t need to worry because illegals can’t vote, it came out this week that there was a little-known provision slipped into a bill a decade ago that makes it not illegal for illegals to vote in US elections if they “don’t know it’s against the law.” Seriously.
-A news bit came out this week that Hunter Biden’s sugar daddy Kevin Morris was “cutting Hunter off.” That seemed odd - and then it came out that USDA Leslie Wolff was told that she wasn’t allowed to investigate Morris by the CIA in 2021.
-A new iteration of The Twitter Files was released by journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger this week. This time the files show direct links to the CIA meddling in social media platforms and putting censorship operations in place through CIA cutouts and shell companies under the guise of “misinformation.”
War/Military:
-A Russian missile attack on Kharkiv killed 7 as RUS gains ground in northern UKR.
UKR has launched the world’s first fully autonomous naval drone armed with anti-aircraft missiles.
-The former President of UKR Yanakovich arrived in Russia to meet with Putin this week. I should remind you that this is the dude Vicky Nuland, Lady G, and McCain deposed with their ColorRev in 2014. Gee, I wonder I wonder what Putin would want to talk to him about…
-Putin made a public announcement this week that he’s willing to negotiate an end to the war and freeze the lines where they are, or fight to Kyiv if UKR or the West doesn’t come to the bargaining table.
-The Nigerian Army has rescued 350 hostages from the terrorist group Boko Haram in the Sumbisa Forest this week.
-China launched a “military exercise” yesterday and surrounded Taiwan. While some are chalking this up to a simple annual exercise, we have several things that may be a little more concerning:
--Erik Prince’s prediction.
--China publicly stated that it’s a “punishment” towards Taiwan for electing a pro-Taiwan president.
--Chinese military leaders stating that an invasion will take place in early June.
--Reports today (Friday) that land troops were beginning to be moved as a part of the “exercise.”
-The Houthis have claimed to shot down two US drones
-The DRC today publicly released the name of the 3rd American who allegedly took part in the failed coup attempt there last week (Taylor Thomson - boy does that ever sound like a fake name).
-Chinese warships docked in Cambodia this week for joint military drills. While all eyes are on Taiwan, China has been up to some major agitation elsewhere in the South China Sea, particularly near the Philipines.
-The ICC sent a formal request for arrest warrants for both Hamas and Israeli leadership.
--While this will take months for anything to come of it, it freaked out some US politicians like Lady G who exclaimed in a hearing that, “we’re next” if that happens. It should be noted that the ICC was the former employer of world-class dirtbag Jack Smith of the DC/FL Trump documents case fame.
-The bodies of more dead hostages were found by the IDF in Raffa yesterday, reportedly in UN buildings again
- and of course, the UN is screeching for Israel to leave Raffa.
-The Raffa pier had to be defended from missiles by the CRAM this week, 3 US soldiers were reportedly injured in non-combat operations, and it’s being reported that while over 500 metric tonnes of humanitarian aid has been delivered to the pier, none of it has gone to citizens of Gaza (Hamas is taking it all).
--I should remind you that this is the opening scene to Blackhawk Down because it’s precisely what Mohammed Farah Aidid was doing in Mogadishu. How’d that turn out for everyone?

Markets/economics:
-New single-family homes for sale just hit the highest levels since 2008 and continue to skyrocket. The Austin market continues to see plummeting prices, with a 20% drop on average and an inventory surge of +442%. I told ya and I told ya and I told ya - if you had to sell a home, your last opportunity was at the end of last year. The time will soon be ripe for buying (if you don’t need a mortgage), however.
-It is being reported this week that 42% of small public companies are losing money and facing a $600bn “wall of debt.”
--As I’ve told you - decimal points get important when money gets tight, and bad business models that were only funded due to cheap & easy money will be shaken out.
-China’s De-dollarization: in 2010, less than 1% of China’s cross-border payments were made in its local currency (RMB). As of March 2024, the RMB now makes up over half (52.9%) of those payments and is accelerating, at the same time that China is dumping US debt (USTs). Article by ZeroHedge in the show notes.
