-Other analysts have started to wonder if the AI investment thesis is the new DotCom bubble or Dutch tulips.
--Meta shareholders seemed to feel the same during Zuckerbucks’ last earnings call.

-French bond futures began to fall as the left looked poised for victory.

-Despite a 30% drop in homebuilding, the Federal employment stats didn’t show any change in employment for residential construction workers (cooked books).

-Citi has a policy rate forecast that was just released expecting 8 rate cuts in a row beginning in Sept.

-India just added 9 tonnes of gold to its reserves, the highest amount in 2 years.

-As of the latest jobs report, 74% of jobs created were either government or healthcare.

-Since June 2023, the US economy has added 1.8mm PT jobs and lost 1.6mm FT jobs.

-A chart was released that shows many of the major EU countries have unfunded pension liabilities that range from 300-500% of their GDPs.
Chart in the show notes. You really have to see it.
--The Great Taking may be unavoidable.

Business:
-Despite the promise that those 87k new IRS agents were only going after the wealthy, a new rule means that every LLC owner needs to file with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network by end of year or face $500 per day fines.

Geopolitics:
-Le Pen’s party doubled its seats in today’s election in France, but they needed to quadruple them in order to form a governing body.
--Her party won every district in France except for Paris.
--Leftist radicals, of course, rioted to celebrate.

-This is the result of a common ploy in Euro politics, which we will go over briefly.
--At a high level, the frauds will no longer be able to hide behind the results of their policies.

-For context, here is the vote breakdown. Much like the UK system, getting the most votes doesn't equal winning:
-French election by vote:
--National Rally: 10,110,079 (143 seats)
--New Popular Front: 7,040,198 (180 seats)
--Together: 6,692,358 (159 seats)
--Republicans: 1,474,721 (39 seats)

-Starmer (new UK PM) makes public vow to release UK prisoners with less than half of their sentences remaining.

-In markets/geo mixed news, Starmer has also indicated that he wants to do away with an 18th-century UK tax law that only taxes non-domiciled UK residents for 15 years.
--This has resulted in the UK being only the 2nd nation that is hemorrhaging millionaires, with over 10k of them having already left this year.

-Hungarian PM and EU rotating President Orban made a secret trip to meet with Putin at the end of the week, and reports came out that his plane headed to China to meet with Xi.

Conspiracy-y:
Video of a presentation was posted on X over the weekend claiming that a 2017 USGOV-funded study exists in the Library of Medicine that found eating bugs can “injure organs & in persistent situations lead to death, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus, & cancer.”

Here’s the thing: every major “health update” in my lifetime (eggs are bad, red meat is bad, the food pyramid, low-fat milk is healthy, seed oils are good for you) has turned out to be not only wrong but terrible for your health.

Based on the batting average of people who claim “The Science” says we need to radically alter the human diet as well as the long timeline of humans eating animal-derived protein, I’m more inclined to trust this than asshole Bill Gates and his crewnecks telling me to eat bugs and fake meat.

I’ll have a steak like a normal person. You can have the mealworms and Soylent Green, thank you very much.

White Pill:
You know that popular meme of, “I know things are looking bad, friend, but they’re gonna get way worse?”

Bad news - it’s accurate. No, a Trump victory in November won’t fix everything in an instant. If you lived through 2017-2021, you should be able to realize they will throw all of the same BS at him again. Often, as before, from inside the GOP establishment.

That is - even he’s even allowed to win. Judge that statement however you wish.

All of this, however, is necessary.
As we discussed with the UK and French election outcomes, it will take a lot for the era of The Great Pretending to end. Many normies who don’t follow politics still don’t get it and still don’t know that most of the media hoaxes of the past decade were hoaxes.

Like the GOP who campaigned on a border wall for decades but then fought Trump when he tried to get one, the frauds need to be put on full display in unavoidable terms.

Most people are cowards, and they will avoid reality at all costs if it will be discomforting. So, it’s gotta become extremely uncomfortable for them to realize the old adage:

“If you do not take an interest in the affairs of your government, then you are doomed to live under the rule of fools.”
-Plato

If we want this country to survive and give our kids/grandkids a chance at greatness, we must take the castor oil.

Implications:
-Biden doesn’t want to step down, donors & the media seem set on the other option. Biden says he’s going to be at the NATO summit - we’ll see if the world leaders have his back or throw him under the bus as well.

-Le Pen won the majority of the votes and doubled the size of her party, but the literal communist, socialist, ecologist, green, and Macron-contrived consortium won the most seats. It will be fun watching them eat each other.

-The unfunded liabilities for pensions in Europe may be a tinderbox- hell, some have come right out and said that’s the reason they need the UKR war to continue forever. If you remember the Greek austerity demanded by the IMF that led to nationwide riots there, imagine the same but across all of Europe.

The Weekly Read (Monday):
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

I saw a thread over the weekend that went deeply into the notion that the “men who know how to build/run things” are getting dangerously close to dropping their hammers, slide rules, and wrenches and walking off the job site for good - if they haven’t already.

Atlas Shrugged was always a great read for those who enjoy Ayn Rand’s insights and foresight, but always taken in a metaphorical and “it could never really get that bad” context.

Look around you. By all accounts that may be precisely why Boeing planes and spaceships are falling apart.

Why a submarine filled with billionaires crumpled before it was anywhere near its destination.

Why bridges are crumbling, police forces are threadbare, and the products you buy are shite.

Give it another read if you haven’t already. It may end up being a study guide.

Macro takeaways/lessons for the week:
-The unraveling/quickening seems to be picking up speed - and we haven’t even seen those terror cells that we know walked right across the Southern border start getting frisky yet.

I hate saying this and it’s a repeat, but it’s worth repeating - with Biden weak and insisting on staying in office, be on the lookout for a reason to “occur” for him to copy Zelensky and implement martial law to cancel elections. I very much hope I’m wrong.
