San Diego county has Dominion Voting Systems and uses ballot marking devices.
Every IN PERSON ballot goes into a secure box and then is tabulated by someone else later. Tabulation happens whether you vote IN PERSON or by mail.
The advantage of in person vs by mail is it removes several hands from having possession of your ballot.
Take your Vote By Mail(VBM) ballot UNOPENED if possible with you. Walk into the polling center or ROV office and tell them you are there to vote in person. There is NO REASON to even show them you have your VBM ballot unless one thing occurs.
You are told you have ALREADY voted. If that happens here is what you do if you choose to.
1. Show them your unopened VBM ballot and let them know you have not voted yet. Tell them you want a NON PROVISIONAL BALLOT to cast your vote with.
2. Ask for a supervisor and let them know your identity has been stolen and fraud has been committed. Demand the following.
- A formal report be made that shows.
a. Was your fraudulent ballot cast in person or by mail?
b. What date and time was your ballot cast?
c. If in person what voting center was your ballot cast at?
d. If VBM, what precinct did your VBM ballot get returned from?
e. *SUPER IMPORTANT* If VBM, Demand the report include an image or copy of the envelope your ballot was supposedly sent with showing your signature.
Tell them, even on election day, you are going to stand and wait there for as long as it takes to get the completed report and you are not leaving until you do. Could it inconvenience you? Yes absolutely but at least you will have first hand experience to share with others about how votes are being stolen.
The last thing is IF they will not fill out a report while you are waiting, your only other option is to call your sheriff and tell them identity theft and fraud has occurred and you want a report filed.
Good luck and help spread the word so other people can protect themselves too.
