"Right Place at the Right Time"

I always seem to be in the right place at the right time...

I was speaking at a K-12 school recently, and the teacher raised a question regarding climate change.

As is my custom regarding such questions, I took out my CO2 detector to measure the classroom air.

It was 1700ppm!

I checked several other classrooms and even the faculty offices and conference room. They were all very high as well. The alarm on my sensor was constantly sounding.

Clearly, everyone in this school building will be feeling drowsy and lethargic. Not an idea learning environment!

I brought the situation to the attention of school officials, and they are taking immediate action to address it.

Probably just a stuck or broken louver in the air exchange system. Or since it's a relatively new system, maybe just incorrectly adjusted.

Regardless, I just improved the academic performance of an entire school.

Who else do you know carries a CO2 detector to their talks? I was the right guy in the right place!

Are your students drowsy in classes? Maybe the teachers are boring... but maybe not. Maybe all the air circulation systems should be double-checked--especially since Covid.

"War"

I often note that we are engaged in a war of Good vs. Evil.

Therefore, God is our General, and He is responsible for the outcome.

Our job is to show up, and to follow orders.

"Urban Heat-Island Effect"

Each month I review and post the updated graph of average global atmospheric temperature. I use the satellite measurements for two reasons:

1) They are uniformly distributed over the planet; and
2) They avoid the "Urban Heat-Island Effect" (UHI)

US scientists convinced congress to deploy a series of global satellites in 1979 because there was serious concern that our historical land-based measurements were non-uniformly distributed, and our measurements were being inflated by the UHI.

(For example, the asphalt in a parking lot stores heat during the day which is emitted at night, raising the average temperature at night. Also, on a sunny day the temperature in the middle of a grassy field is lower than in the middle of the parking lot. Thus, the placement of sensors affects the measurements.)

This problem has only become worse over time, due to urban sprawl near our sensors and neglect of their upkeep. A few years ago a study was published showing that 95% of our land-based sensors did not comply with NOAA standards, and a recent study shows that surface temperatures have been exaggerated by 50% because of it. My “Prayer Thought”

Golfers use the strategy of a “swing thought” to keep their focus on the right things during their golf swing. Lately I’ve been using a new “prayer thought” when approaching God.

Whenever I hold a baby, I like to nuzzle their head. They are so innocent and vulnerable, and they smell so good.

Well, according to 2 Corinthians 2:15, Christians smell like Jesus Christ to God. The Greek word used is best translated as “pleasing aroma” or “perfume.”

So these days when approaching God I imagine Him lovingly nuzzling my head, which smells like His beloved son, Jesus Christ.

To think that I could bring the God the universe pleasure, and that God cares for me like His own child is a great way to begin a conversation; an inspiring “prayer thought.”

I like simple examples…

I was recently interviewed by Debbie Georgatos in Dallas, and she opened her program with the profound principle:

Q: How do you know who is lying to you?

A: Who is censoring you?

"Transparency"

If I am telling you the truth, then I welcome a close examination of my claims, my arguments, my data, and my evidence. Transparency increases my credibility, and allows others to come to similar conclusions as I have.

If I am lying to you, then I have to limit your ability to examine the underlying data and evidence, or else my lie will be exposed, and I will not be able to force/convince you to believe and act as I wish.

Secretaries of state are shutting down access to all their election systems and data, and instructing county officials to do the same. Why?

Who is lying to you?

Data are the antidote to propaganda.

I'm planning to take this on the road with me, to have people sign it!

I wonder how deep the ocean would be if it didn't have all those sponges in it?

“Gun d’Alene”

I was in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho recently, and learned of an incident where the sheriff informed the public that Antifa protestors were en route.

When the protestors arrived they were welcomed by a thousand fully armed local residents.

The protestors were informed that they were free to hold their protest; after all, we believe in free speech—the first amendment. But the citizens would open fire at the first sign of violence or when the first window was broken—because we also believe in the second amendment.

The protestors left without incident. The media called it, “Gun d’Alene.”

Our founders framed the Constitution *assuming* an armed-and-ready citizenry. It’s not only your right, it’s your civic obligation and family responsibility.

You are supposed to be armed, skilled, and ready on a moment’s notice to protect yourself, your family, and your country.

If you aren’t armed, you are derelict in your duty.
