▪️In the village of Malaya Loknya, 14 km from the border with Ukraine, Russian troops have turned the colony into a fortified facility, surrounding it with barricades and using watchtowers for defense. Ukrainian forces are responding with shelling from Marder vehicles and drone attacks.
▪️It is not yet clear how many prisoners are still in the prison. According to Bild, even guards may be involved in the defense of the facility.

I just remembered how in 2018, a group of 26 NGOs, including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Freedom House, Reporters Without Borders, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and others, condemned the Russian court's decision to block Telegram. Similar statements were also made in the West (1, 2, 3, 4).

They said all this because on July 1, 2018, the Yarovaya Law came into force in Russia, obliging telecommunications operators to store records of telephone messages and Internet traffic of their clients for six months, as well as keys for decrypting users' correspondence and provide them to the FSB of Russia upon request.
