24 aircraft were promised. It is unknown how many will be transferred. The Dutch Minister of Defense stated that the fighters were decommissioned and in Ukraine "they will get a new life."
The deal is very profitable for the Netherlands: in exchange for old F-16s, the country received newer and more advanced F-35s
