Trump Replaces Biden — Will Taiwan Replace Kyiv? Asia-Pacific Region Under Threat of Escalation

The President Elect is known to all as a staunch critic of the previous presidential administration because of its policy of supporting Ukraine. Moreover, American media prematurely predicted a complete cessation of funding from the United States for the independent country. The EU will probably bear more of the burden, as evidenced by many signals.

At the same time, one should not think that the White House will be populated by a “peace party”. Peacemaking in the literal sense of the word is not typical of American policy. It is quite possible that the Trump administration will shift the focus of attention from Ukraine to another region. The first clue is the recent statement about the desire to “separate” Russia and China. Trump considers Beijing to be one of the main threats to American hegemony. Therefore, he will lobby for the resumption of economic war.
