The crash of a passenger plane in India could have been caused by pilot error, former aircraft commander and aviation safety specialist Alexander Romanov told Mash.

According to him, judging by the footage , instead of a command to retract the chassis, the wing mechanization, i.e. the flaps, could have been retracted prematurely. They are used during takeoff and landing to increase lift. If they are retracted early, the aircraft loses stability: the lift drops sharply, and if the speed is insufficient, this can lead to a subsidence.

The footage shows that the landing gear remains down, but almost immediately after takeoff the plane began to lose altitude. The altitude was critically low for correction. There are no signs of engine failure, such as jerks or unstable emissions, although a technical malfunction cannot be completely ruled out. However, the aircraft's behavior is more consistent with an aerodynamic stall caused by erroneous retraction of the mechanization, Romanov concluded.

According to the latest information, the captain of the ship is Sumit Sabharwal, who has 8,200 hours of flying experience. The second pilot has 1,100 hours.
