“Due to heightened tensions in the region, the State Department advises U.S. citizens in the Middle East and North Africa region to exercise increased caution. Such tensions have historically led to travel disruptions and heightened concerns for the safety of U.S. citizens in the region. U.S. citizens should enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) on the State Department’s website to receive information and alerts and make it easier to locate someone in the event of an emergency overseas.”
