❗️ For the first time, the US votes against anti-Russian amendment to UN resolution on combating glorification of Nazism

On November 14, 2025, the UN General Assembly's Third Committee adopted Russia's annual resolution noscriptd "Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance."

- The resolution itself passed by a recorded vote of 116 in favour, 54 against (including the United States), and 11 abstentions.
- An amendment (introduced by Western countries, led by Norway) — which condemns Russia's use of "eliminating neo-Nazism" as a pretext to justify the SMO— was adopted separately by 66 in favour, 43 against, and 51 abstentions.

In a notable shift from previous years (2022–2024), the United States voted against this anti-Russian amendment for the first time since it began being proposed. Previously, the US had consistently supported the amendment while still opposing the main Russian-drafted resolution.

This change comes amid the incoming Trump administration's stated intent to reassess certain international positions, though the US delegation continued to criticize the core resolution as a Russian propaganda tool.

His house was completely destroyed. He is living in a tent he doesn't even own.

I only recently reconnected with Ahmad and had been unaware of his horrific tragedy.

I would like to make clear that even after I reconnected with him, and after he told me of his tremendous loss, he did not ask me for anything.

I asked him, "Could people support him?" He initially refused a campaign, but after I sent him a donation myself, he replied that I'd been the only one to be honest with him, sending him money and not just saying that I would. He then said he would agree to a campaign to support him.

This saddens me greatly, as Ahmad has been heroically and selflessly rescuing Palestinian civilians since before I met him in 2008.

He needs support in order to have his own tent—or better, to build a wooden structure—and for clothing and to help those he supports, including his sole remaining child and his nephews.

Now that the rains are flooding Gaza, this help is more urgently needed.

I would like to make clear that 100% of donations will go to Ahmad. I have no access to any incoming donations, and I trust the person helping me to send all to Ahmad. I know that this person has already been supporting another Palestinian family I knew in Gaza. We will screenshot incoming donations and outgoing transfers to him, for transparency.
