‘Pharma Bro’ CEO ordered to pay $64MN – BARRED from industry

Martin Shkreli, dubbed the “Pharma Bro” by the media, has been ordered to pay $64.6 million in profits he and his company made off of the anti-parasitic drug Daraprim.

Shkreli, the founder and former CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals was barred from the business Friday by US District Judge Denise Cote after a 7-day bench trial in December. 

The 2020 lawsuit alleged Shkreli blocked the competition from vital data and used supply agreements to manipulate the market availability of the drug’s actual ingredients.

The total number of billionaires in the Asia-Pacific region rocketed from 803 in March 2020 to 1,087 by November 2021.

That’s as approximately 140 million people on the same continent were plunged into poverty due to job loses during the pandemic.

Italy to boost funding for compensation over vaccine side effects

Matteo Salvini’s League Party is pushing to expand the country’s vaccination compensation fund to include people who experience side effects to Covid jabs. (Bloomberg)

The party proposes to increase the amount of funding by $57 million, to cover people who were advised but not required to get vaccinated.

The government created the program in 1992, to compensate Italians harmed by mandatory vaccines.

There are many ways to explain groups of people becoming ill that appears contagious but is not: miners being exposed to ionizing radiation before we knew about it.
