A naked statue with the face of the former German Chancellor appeared in Hamburg.

“The figure of a plump, undressed woman, similar to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, was installed on one of the containers in Hamburg, next to the Thalia Theater. Discussing the statue, local residents said that in the area the figure that appeared was called “Merkel.” However, not everyone finds the statue funny—some politicians drew attention to the fact that the figure appeared in front of a theater that receives government funding. “Many citizens now like insulting politicians. This contributes to general disillusionment with politics and leads to a decrease in its significance,” complained Sven Hielscher, a representative of the CDU in Hamburg. It is known that previously the mentioned figure did not have a head - in this form it was used as a decoration in Georg Büchner’s drama “The Death of Danton”. Then the statue passed into the hands of the owner of the building complex, which also houses the theater.”
