Vaccine mandate sparks 'freedom of choice" protests across California

A protest held at San Jose city hall was just one of many across the state, with protesters voicing concerns over the threat posed to freedom of individual choice. In particular parents flagged concerns about a push to vaccinate their children.

In the video aired by NTD news, protesters question the side-effects and argued for the freedom to choose. One protester interviewed referred to knowing two people who had died after taking the jab.

The protests follow on from California becoming the first state in the US to announce plans requiring student vaccinations.

JUST IN - Biden's COVID-19 vaccine mandate begins January 4, with hefty fines for noncompliance.

Large employers with 100+ workers must mandate vaccinations and/or weekly testing and masks for those who refuse the vaccine.

OSHA plans to send out agents to check that workplaces are in compliance with the rule. For willful violations, a company can be fined up to $136,532. The standard penalty is $13,653 for a single violation.
