Dmitri Poljanski, der russische Vize-UN-Botschafter, kritisierte den Einsatz von Streumunition durch Kiew in Donezk. Die Streumunition bringe keinen Vorteil auf dem Schlachtfeld. 1. Florida Fines Medicaid Providers Over Trans Treatments On Minors
The Topline: In a Morning Wire exclusive, five Medicaid healthcare plans have violated Florida’s rule against covering transgender treatments for minors. State officials have now taken the unprecedented step of issuing fines over the violation.

Florida Takes Action
Transgender surgeries and treatments for minors have been a hotly contested issue in Florida for months – earlier this year a federal judge temporarily blocked a law that banned medical providers from performing such operations on minors.
 
However…Other similar bans in Florida are still in place.
 
Last year, Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration commissioned a systematic review of the medical literature on treatments for gender dysphoria in children and determined they were not medically necessary.
 
In response, the administration issued a rule that went into effect last August that prohibited any state Medicaid funds from covering those types of medications or treatments for minors.
 
But…In December, well after the rule was in place and widely known, five Medicaid healthcare plans were discovered to be covering transgender treatments for minors anyway.
 
One of the violations – caught during a routine Medicaid audit – included a double mastectomy on a 16-year-old.
 
“One of the plans had in fact paid for a double mastectomy of a minor for the treatment of gender dysphoria,” Jason Weida, Secretary of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, told Morning Wire.
 
“That same plan, and a handful of other plans had also paid for drugs for the treatment of gender dysphoria … all of those things were in violation of our rule, we take this issue really seriously.”
 
Remember: Insurers typically face legal consequences for refusing to pay for treatment that should have been covered – it’s extremely rare to see them fined for covering things they should not have.
 
Weida noted that they don’t know at this point what motivated those decisions to cover the treatments anyway, but it raises the question of whether there were political motivations behind it.
 
Penalizing Medicaid providers is a novel approach and part of a multi-pronged effort the state of Florida has been taking to crack down on transgender-related procedures for minors.
