Dear Presidents of the ISRM National Groups,

This is a call for nominations to the 9th ISRM Müller Award.

According to the ISRM By-law No.8 on the Müller Award, the deadline for the National Groups to present nominations is 16 April 2022.

Nominations are to be addressed to the ISRM Secretary General and shall include the name and address of the nominee and of the nominating National Group; a summary of up to 1000 words describing the nominee's achievements and contributions; and a list of the nominee's publications. The ISRM By-law No. 8 is attached to this email.

The award is made once every four years in recognition of distinguished contributions to the profession of rock mechanics and rock engineering and consists of a special Müller Lecture to be delivered at the ISRM International Congresses, a work of art typical of the culture of the country hosting the Congress and a silver medallion with a portrait of Leopold Müller.

The nominations will be voted by secret ballot at the next Council meeting to be held in Asuncion, Paraguay, on 16 October 2022, and the winner will receive the award and deliver the Müller Lecture during the 15th ISRM International Congress, in 2023, in Salzburg, Austria.

In 2019 the ISRM approved the ISRM Science and Technology Awards, which have the following two categories to be conferred on alternate years:
- Science Achievement Award;
- Technological Invention Award.

In 2022 the Science Achievement Award will be conferred on ISRM individual members in recognition of one or more of the following contributions to the progress of the science of rock mechanics:
- making an important advancement of knowledge;
- proposing and confirming a new theory to explain certain phenomena.

دوستان عزیز سلام
توام یا توامان کلمه ای عربی است و لذا نمی توانیم آن را ترجمه مناسبی برای coupled بدانیم.
همچنین با توجه به معنی توامان که همان دوتایی و دو همراه می باشد به هیچ عنوان مفهوم واژه coupled در مسائل مهندسی را نمی رساند. به عبارت دیگر فرآیندهایی که در مهندسی همزمان اتفاق می افتند و روی هم تاثیر می گذارند را با عبارت coupled بیان می کنیم در صورتی که کلمه توامان اثر تاثیر این فرآیندها بر هم را بیان نمی کند. بر این اساس واژه همبسته به نظر برای کلمه coupled مناسب تر است.
