If a change in the center of gravity come, it will come from a strong, Western, civilized country with a strong military, a strong GDP and a strong industrial complex. And most importantly: peace, order and good government.
🇮🇷🇺🇸 - Is there popular support for the US going into Iran, doing regime change, and losing a 6-digit number of troops? No. That would sink Trump's presidency forever.

BUT

Will people forgive him for going into Iran's skies, dropping 9 bombs on Iran's nuclear sites, and then Iran not doing anything serious to "close Hormuz" or to "massively bomb US bases in the region"? Yes. Most people will.
Rule of thumb: its not because you don't hold free elections that you're a more serious country than everybody else. In fact, not holding elections is more often than not the sign that you have some serious governance problems, which is bad if you intend to go after the US.

OK, but then focus on economic development and let other countries alone. If anything focusing on developing yourself for a few decades, even if not immediately developing your military, will on the long run make you more, not less, militarily capable.
