Today we could’ve jumped on the hype and posted the ‘’Trump daddy” news, but we didn’t. Why?
Because it’s not what happened. Watch the video and you’ll see: Rutte was echoing Trump, little Dutch boy just played along, saying it felt like a father scolding two kids fighting. That’s it.
I'm not defending Rutte. But this isn’t about him. It’s about journalism/OSINT today: lazy, copy-paste narratives blasted by so-called news outlets and Telegram groups alike (outside GIW). They all ran with the same misleading headline. It spiraled so badly that a journalist even asked Trump about it during a press conference, giving him an assist to show who’s ‘’Daddy’’, while Rutte and all the European leaders get painted as submissive ass lickers (as if some weren’t enough already).
