⚡️🇸🇾 Ansar al-Sunnah, a group composed of dissident former HTS members disillusioned with the leadership of Ahmed al-Sharaa, has claimed responsibility for the recent wildfires in the forests near al-Qastal in rural Latakia, coastal Syria.

The group, which criticises what it sees as the abandonment of strict Sharia-based governance, stated that the fires were set deliberately to drive out Alawite communities from the area.

They made their announcement on the media platform ‘Dabiq’ which is beginning to appear similar in form to ‘Amaq’, ISIS’s platform.
