The user account @claudiolessajornalista (1122105688) was deleted right now and his channel @claudiolessaoficial was banned worldwide.

Yesterday, the brazilian court requested Telegram to block the channels from the user @claudiolessajornalista for spread misinformation.

Telegram changed Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in Brazil
(Terms were originally in portuguese and were translated for better explanation. You can check them in portuguese integrally bellow)

Old Terms of Service for Brazil:
By signing up for Telegram, you accept our Privacy Policy and agree not to:
- Use our service to send spam or scam users.
- Promote violence on publicly viewable Telegram channels, bots, etc.
- Post illegal pornographic content on publicly viewable Telegram channels, bots, etc.
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service later.
Citizens of EU countries and the United Kingdom must be at least 16 years old to sign up.

New Terms of Service for Brazil:
By signing up for Telegram, you accept our Privacy Policy and agree not to:
- Using our service to spam or scam users.
- Promoting violence on public Telegram channels, bots, etc.
- Post illegal pornographic content on public Telegram channels, bots, etc.
- Abusing the public Telegram platform to participate in activities recognized as illegal by most countries – such as terrorism and child abuse.

🔹Which activities are "illegal in most countries"?
I don't know, concept and interpretation are wide. But the examples Telegram gave us were already covered by the old TOS.
> "terrorism" was already covered by "promoting violence"
> "child abuse" was already covered by "illegal pornographic content"

🔹Telegram also changed Privacy Policy in Brazil, the most important change was:
"Telegram is a secure service that protects activists and ordinary people from data monopolies and authoritarian governments. However, if Telegram receives a court order from a democratic country, such as Brazil, regarding the use of Telegram's public platform for activities prohibited by the Terms of Use - such as terrorism and abuse against children and adolescents - the IP addresses and Phone numbers of suspects may be made available to the proper authorities."

🧐 That means, Telegram may disclose IP and number of users in Brazil who "participate in activities recognized as illegal by most countries".
And that's a wide and unknown concept.

Telesco.pe is down since 11/05/2022 and nobody noticed (LMAO)

It has been more than 13 days since telescope was last online.
Channels like telesco.pe/durov are not working.
The website homepage (telesco.pe) is unstable in most of the world.

In 16/03/2022 links from cdn1.telesco.pe were all changed to cdn1.telegram-cdn.org. The same happend to the links of all the other 5 datacenters.

And after 13 days it is suddenly online again (2h after I post about it on this channel 🤔)

Accounts from Telegram's DC1 (most of the accounts created with American numbers) are not able to connect to any MtProto Proxies right now!

Accounts from other Data Centers can connect to MtProto Proxies normally, but can't download files from DC1 and DC3.

No transparency report is available for your region. If any IP addresses or phone numbers are shared in accordance with 8.3 of the Privacy Policy, we will publish a transparency report within 6 months of it happening and will continue publishing semiannual reports.

Note: for a court decision to be relevant, it must come from a country with a high enough democracy index to be considered a democracy. Only the IP address and the phone number may be shared.

Since yesterday (18/08 GMT) Telegram deleted a few channels and turned to private a lot of them.

Channels like @botlist and @OtherBots were turned to private.

In the case the channels were turned to private the usernames are not lost (if you don't change it, nobody can grab it) and if anybody search for the username directly on global search, the channel will be publicy available for all other users again (it will appear in recent actions that the creator of the channel grab it's older username, like the picture above).

The usernames are being retrieved with lowercases.

The affected channel seems to be the ones that didn't had posts for a long time (more than 1 year).

We still don't know if it is a Telegram bug or a new feature (to clear old unused public usernames).

Most of Premium users that were the creators of channels didn't had their channels turned to private.

All usernames that were "retrieved" (by searching it in global search) were gone again.
That mean you can no longer reach @botlist or @otherbots channels by their usernames. And their usernames are still restricted for use.

Some users informed today that Telegram fixed the "bug" that allowed users to sell Telegram Premium for way cheaper prices.

What happened?
Telegram was using the local price from the buyers country to those who wanted gift Telegram Premium to users from another country.
Knowing that, some users were using Turkish VOIP numbers, to sell Telegram Premium to anybody in the world for less than ~2$ per month.
(Un)fortunately this doesn't seem to be possible anymore.

Now, only users with a phone number from the same country a can gift subnoscriptions at regional price. When gifting premium to users from other countries, price will be the internal one.

Diese Option wäre, sofern sie Zustimmung findet, komplett neu für Telegram und erfordert deswegen eine Änderung unserer Datenschutzerklärung für Nutzer aus Deutschland.

OPTION 3: Unter keinen Umständen darf Telegram Nutzerinformationen weitergeben, inkl. IP-Adressen und Telefonnummern von Terrorverdächtigen. Wenn diese Option unterstützt wird, ändert Telegram seine Datenstruktur und die Datenschutzerklärung für Nutzer aus Deutschland.

Nur Nutzer, die mit deutschen Telefonnummern registriert sind, können an der Umfrage unten teilnehmen. Wir haben alle Telegram-Nutzer in Deutschland über diese Umfrage informiert. Die Umfrage bleibt bis zum 5. September, 12:00 Uhr deutscher Zeit (UTC+2), geöffnet.
