👉🏻 In Toulon, thousands of demonstrators who oppose the vaccine passport and compulsory vaccination sang La Marseillaise, the French national anthem.

ℹ️ La Marseillaise is a song written at the time of the Revolution of 1789. The warlike lyrics are often denounced for their violence: it is about taking revenge on traitors, tyrants and invaders by waging a merciless war against them. The song is literally a call to insurrection and war, to revolution.

📌 Note: since the beginning of the populist movement of opposition to the vaccine passport in France, historical symbols have flourished in the demonstrations: revolutionary, republican, royalist, Napoleonic, regional flags, flags from the 1940 Resistance...

👉🏻 In Lille, northern France, a 45-year-old man of unknown origins caused panic on the streetcar after making threats.

🔎 The man said that he would "slit the throats of miscreants" and that he would "massacre white people".

👮🏻‍♀️ The man was able to leave the streetcar freely. An investigation has been opened.

👉🏻 Fort-de-France is the main city of the island of Martinique, a French overseas territory. The French government recently ordered a new lockdown and curfew on the entire island.

🔎 This measure triggered the anger of the local population who took to the streets to demonstrate and show their discontent. The situation was very tense and the gendarmerie (a military unit in charge of police missions) used tear gas and dispersal grenades to control the crowd.

📌 In retaliation, the crowd dispersed and angry protesters set fire to a vaccination center, which is now unusable. They also set up barricades.
