Avalanche Studios, the company behind Just Cause, Mad Max, Rage 2, The Hunter, Generation Zero, and the upcoming (but possibly cancelled) Contraband is laying off staff.

The studio in Liverpool will be closed, leaving Malmo and Stockholm standing, but with fewer workers.

After like a couple of months on Linux as my laptop OS, I can yet again say: it's easier to debloat Windows 11 than make Linux worth it:

- Missing features
- Worse alternatives
- Incompatible apps
- Random bugs
- Performance issues

Oddly enough, Linux may be absolutely perfect for single player gaming rig. It works oddly good with modern games on average. But for any serious and versatile usage Windows is the only choice.

It took me like 30 minutes to cut Windows 11 from all unwanted features and now it's already times better than Linux for my needs. MS even supports proper SSH via the default terminal these days.

If correct, it's going to be the worst pivot ever and the company will struggle the way XBox does now: tons of IPs, but no releases.

What is really missing in almost every critique video of FH series is that it doesn't have SPACE for all these fast cars: roads are way too short to accelerate!

And this was my main reason to switch to silly The Crew 2 after FH4.

So, Dying Light: The Beast
(First Impressions)
https://steamcommunity.com/id/rinocrosser/recommended/3008130

We need more games that look and feel differently from the current UE “realism”. And DL The Beast definitely serves that itch — it feels like a game, not a tech demo, which is nice. But it goes with no Raytracing at all and the rendering feels simplified, compared to DL2 (there's nothing as cool as Central Loop here). And there are certain technical issues with VSYNC and low-latency modes. Not game-breaking, but keep that in mind.

It's also a pure fanservice product, that will help fans of Dying Light 1 and 2 to finally unite and play together. The character from the first game, a bit of vibes from Old Villedor (that was only available in one of DL2 endings), but also cars, firearms, countryside, and so on.

If you liked DL2 for RPG elements and skyscrapers, you may get disappointed. If you liked DL and DL2 for smashing zombies and running around with friends — grab The Beast too!
