Among other things, Microsoft will give up on "This is an XBox" marketing from now on. The slogan and overall idea was not popular internally and led to barely (if any) traction in subnoscription sales (according to Tom Warren from The Verge)

Tom says, that Microsoft decided to fire Sarah Bond, because the campaign was her vision of XBox and she left no space for doubt of this idea back in 2024. Most of the developers and gamers considered this idea offensive and didn't like cloud gaming.

Dear folks, Telegram is doing some sketchy stuff with channels' balance. The UI to withdraw the TON balance disappeared, leaving only stars. And since many of us were not collecting the reward, it seemingly gone (in my case it's about 34 ≈ $45).

Which means, ads you see in this channel earned me $0 so far and yes, I can't disable them or even see and approve.

And thanks to seven people who gave us these funny stars, in total they're like 9 cents or IDK 😁

First, I don't want to make people feel like they support us and in reality it will go to waste. Stars are now disabled.

Second, one day I may drop affiliate ads here, but not like crappy ones, no snake oil and crypto gurus. Fk that shit. I prefer to make no $$ on this channel than make it bad 🗿

Do you know that you can officially link any Windows 10 and 11 PC to your phone? I usually remove Phone Link app, but decided to give it a go. Ain't bad. Yes, I've been annoyed by Apple fan who belived it only exists on mac...

Both Android and iOS are supported, you are free to limit what the app can do or get access to. I'm only using it to share files and media, but you can:

- Make calls
- Use SMS
- Find your phone
- Lock phone or PC
- Use a shared clipboard

And do tons of other things. It's fairly seamless and customizable. I didn't give it any access to calls, contacts, or messages, but keep notifications and files on.

Just tried Highguard as it could be the last few days to try it out. The biggest issue (outside of being bland) is melee combat.

You have to press twice to break walls and mine minerals. Hit + precise second click for it to work. In a fast-paced FPS with horses. Absolutely breaking the immersion and flow.

And on my 5070 and Ryzen 5600x I can barely play it in native QHD resolution (unless I want 40-60 FPS). With blurry DLSS setup it is floating at about 90.

NACON has no more money to operate its property and trying to settle it with investors.

They are the company behind Cyanide (Styx), Daedalic (Deponia, Gollum, State of Mind), Spiders (GreedFall, Steelrising). In total there are over 25 companies, 1000+ employees, and over 100 locations.

Not a full Bankruptcy, but they are fairly close to it. And they still plan a new presentation on March 6 and hoping to freeze their obligations by up to 18 months.

Unity is going to discontinue HDRP (High Definition Rendering Pipeline). Only the URP (Universal Rendering Pipeline) will remain.

So they are planning to invest all resources into a scalable setup that will not be as powerful as HDRP at first. It's expected that there will be a period when making visually modern games will not be possible in Unity. Honestly, it wasn't possible anyway — HDRP was slow even on high-end hardware.

Skate creators from the studio Full Circle will be laid off. The exact number isn't specified but the announcement happened after the team (initially promised to sell only cosmetics), hid the new map (tutorial island reskin) behind the paywall 😑

Overall, the game has a few thousands passionate fans online but that's not enough to support the development at a serious scale. The initial 135K CCU was obviously a hype train, but people are doubtful if live service model was ever a good choice for Skate.

Xiaomi decided to commit suicide and bricked all of its gray import smartphones with HyperOS 3 update.

If by any chance you have a Chinese phone with global firmware (or just suspiciously affordable Xiaomi and POCO), do not update your phone. And disable automatic updates.

The phone now checks the real region and the one the device was aiming for. And locks it into an infinite loop if they don't match. Some users were able to fix the issue by quickly manually rebooting the phone over and over at least 7 times. Then it rolls back to the old system.
