Sharing my GameCube journey 2012-2025

In 2011 i started retro game collecting. Met someone off Craigslist at McDonald’s and bought a cube, twilight princess and re zero for $20. Didn’t care about or own the system ever, but my good games changed my mind.

I had the retro games in storage 2015-now. Since then I got air riders for $5 and some other deals.

Recently I got some more gems since I unpacked. It’s the system that I feel like I was wrong about because it feels fun and top tier Nintendo bazaar ness that stopped around 2018 lol.

Simple question I will probably delete after getting an answer: For memory cards, does a game instantly take up blocks even if the save file is insignificant or does it take up more space the larger the save file?

Mario Party 5 crashes when finishing Story Mode

So I bought a copy of Mario Party 5 at a retro booth in a convention, and everything works fine with it, but during the credits when I finish the story mode, the game will just suddenly crash during the middle of it saying "An error has occured. Turn off the console blah blah blah manual blah blah blah", the only problem I have with this is that I litteraly can't unlock the Bowser board in Party mode which is really annoying. Anyone might know what causes the problem?

GameCube losing all power in the middle of playing A game

Hi all, I recently got A GameCube from eBay that came in great condition. It was working well for the past 2 weeks then yesterday I was trying out some third party wireless controllers while playing lord of the rings third age and in the middle of A battle the screen went black and the console seemed to lose all life (no disc spinning, no power light, required me to power cycle and restart the system.) This problem has continued since and makes the console unplayable.

I have tried using the original controllers, plugging the GameCube into A different outlets, setting it up in A different room that it worked in previously, and I have also left the console idle for A while to see if I could replicate the issue, which it did.

Questing being so you think it’s A power supply issue, capacitor issue, or an overheating issue. I plan on troubleshooting some more when home from work, but I wanted your insight before I go cracking the thing open. Thank you in advance!
