Google Translate is getting a whole new bunch of features and UI improvements with V7.12

0. UI Updates
- The "conversation" icon will be removed and replaced with the "Handwriting" icon. New speak button animation and some other things. Watch the Video above to see all things.

1. Face to Face mode
- This allows you to turn your screen (Translate app UI) upside down in conversation mode, so the other person can see the translated text instantly while you speak and vice versa.

2. New Speech features
- Translate any form of speech, from words, continuous conversations, to long trannoscriptions. This removes the standalone "conversation" feature and is now integrated in the "Speech" section.

3. Auto Playback
- Automatically read the translation aloud after you finish speaking.

4. Auto language detection
- Automatically recognize the language you speak. You can disable it to manually select the language before speaking.

Everything works, but no word about its rollout.

Google Photos Prepares to Add Ultra HDR Photos Support

Back in May, Google announced Ultra HDR image capturing support coming to premium Android devices with Android 14. It was also said that Google Photos will be the first app to support viewing and editing Ultra HDR images.

With Android 14 coming next month, Google Photos 6.51.0.561138754 is adding support for viewing Ultra HDR images. The code and strings added in this version hints at it.

It's not possible for me to personally test if this is ready, it may have some more bits of code added before Android 14 release.

What's new :

• Google removed the conversation starter flag and its code completely, so you will never see it again.

It was possible to enable it with writing_helper_enable_conversation_starter flag with Rboard 😉

• New language search bar when adding languages in Gboard. It can be enabled with enable_new_language_search_bar

• Two panel settings in Landscape mode (just like tablets). You can enable it with enable_settings_two_pane_display

This is available in previous version of gboard as well. Thanks to the Rboard channel for pointing it out though.

• New proofreading icon and Google will mask bad words (with ***) in the text :p This setting is off by default for now, but in case Google enable it someday you can turn it off by writing_helper_mask_bad_word

• Emogen, the AI emoji generator is also coming soon but it doesn't work yet for now even after enabling flags.

Google Play Store and Google Play Services code reveals some bits about the Android XR platform. This also means the Android powered XR Platform may be somewhat ready but not enough to compete with Apple's Vision Pro.

Just playing with flags of Play Store. This UI is intended for Tablets/Foldable devices (already available, nothing new) but if enabled on Phone, it may look ugly in portrait but looks pretty fine in landscape.

Can not be enabled fully with the GappsMod app, because you need to change an integer value in the database which is not possible with the GappsMod app for now.

Emoji reactions coming to Gmail on Android

A week ago Steve Moser revealed that Google was working on Emoji reactions for Gmail on iOS. They are coming to Gmail on Android as well and works the same way as it would in iOS.

There are predefined emoji reactions "🙏🎉😊💖😂👍" but Google will allow to choose other emoji's as well. While I am sure Google will allow reacting directly from the Email screen, you would be able to react by choosing emoji reactions option from the overflow menu (three dots) as well.

Restrictions -
• You received this via BCC, so you can't react with an emoji
• You can't react with an emoji to this encrypted message
• You can't react with an emoji to a large group
• You can't react with an emoji more than (number) times."

When you don't bother to read the linked article and check the author's name, this happens. Multiple sources? I @assembleDebug own TheSpAndroid blog.

Also no backlinks to the origin of content i.e. my blog or this channel . Because everyone likes to backlink 9to5google (which surprised me by giving a backlink to the blog, wasn't expecting it).
