Google Drive will let you categorise files for easier file management 📂

I spotted this feature in January but was not sure if it's a new feature or already exists for workspace users!!

You can just type random numbers for new conversation and Google Message will show up the name and profile picture associated with it . This happens if the number added to a Google account and have a profile. It is related to Profiles feature in Google Messages.

The above contact is not in my contact list.

I will just use this to identify callers from unknown numbers... Lol

Google might add the "Notification" tab in the Google app which has been available in the iOS app for more than two years.

Not exactly sure if this is some new addition or was added long ago but never rolled out!!!

Turned on with some flags.

Edit : seems old, Google just don't want to roll it out.

Gemini in Google Messages also makes one thing clear that the markdown support which I spotted back in November is intended for Gemini mostly. Because without text formatting Gemini will output gibberish text blocks like you can see in the screenshot. You will be able to use markdown in other RCS chats as well.

Some UI changes related to upcoming WhatsApp file sharing functionality reportedly named "People nearby"

An icon for "People nearby" will be available in the setting of WhatsApp on top. Users will be able to share a file by long pressing a file inside a chat, then selecting WhatsApp from the system share sheet which will open the "Send to...." Page where tapping "Lorem ipsum" (it's a placeholder text) will open the "People Nearby" page with a scanning animation. Additionally there is a QR scanning page which will help in connecting users.

The feature is using Google's nearby connections api and automatically enables WiFi and Bluetooth.
These pages are filled with placeholder texts currently.
