UP Congress Chief Ajay Rai Mocks Rafale Deal with 'Toy Plane' Display

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai recently displayed a toy plane labeled ‘Rafale,’ complete with lemon and chillies hanging from it—a traditional Indian charm to ward off evil—taking a swipe at the Modi government over the controversial fighter jet deal.

This comes on the heels of former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s demand for concrete proof of the government’s much-publicized surgical strike operations, signaling renewed opposition criticism of the BJP-led Centre's defense claims.

This is my opinion that no one, including ourselves, no one should discuss any such indicators at all in public. Main stream media should act responsibly and shouldn't talk about these events for their TRP and sensationalism. War isn't a stand alone business of the army, it is the ultimate test of national resolve. If we keep talking about our preparations publicly, the element of surprise will be lost as the forces prepare and build up. Three elements are necessary in every kinetic operation: Surprise, speed and secrecy. We need to think before every information propagation twice, and ask ourselves, "Is the dissemination of this information from my device or from my platform, going to contribute to loss of one of these elements by our forces?"

Bhuj, Kutch, Gujarat: During the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, a group of women of Bhuj played an essential role in defeating Pakistan by rebuilding the damaged Indian Air Force (IAF) airstrip after Pakistani air strikes.

Kanbai Shivji Hirani, one of the women from that group, recalled her memories and experience and said, "It was not possible to build the runway soon, but we made it possible by rebuilding it, as it was a matter of the country. When we won the war, we were very happy.”

For the first time in history we have seen such low water levels in Chenab in Akhnoor, Jammu. This is due to stoppage of river water by Salal Project of Chenab river. At some places local people are crossing the river on foot. For those waiting for ‘something’, it has already begun.
