ED Cracks Down on ₹100 Crore Waqf Fraud in Ahmedabad
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched a major crackdown on a ₹100 crore Waqf property scam in Ahmedabad, conducting raids at 10 locations. Salim Pathan is accused of illegally collecting rent from Waqf properties linked to Kanch Ki Masjid and the Shah Bada Kasam Trust. Authorities allege the land, originally designated for an Urdu school, was misused.

CJI Sanjiv Khanna Recuses Himself from Waqf Act Case

Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna has recused himself from the high-profile Waqf Act case, abstaining even from ruling on the interim stay—seen as a key victory for the Centre. The case will now be heard by incoming CJI B.R. Gavai, with the next hearing scheduled for May 15. The Modi government is set to mount a strong defence of the Waqf Act.

Police Lathi-Charge BPSC Teacher Aspirants in Patna Amid Protests Over Supplementary Results

Patna witnessed chaos as police resorted to lathi-charge on BPSC teacher candidates demanding the release of supplementary results. The protest escalated near key government offices, prompting a strong police response.

The U.S. has offered migrants $1,000 for voluntarily leaving the country, as part of a program launched by the Department of Homeland Security.

To receive the payment, migrants must register in a special app, leave the U.S. territory, and confirm their stay abroad. Only after that will the money be transferred to them.

The department explained that this scheme will help reduce deportation costs by about 70%.
