▪️Insurgency in the eastern states has been an older problem than J&K
▪️All the states in this triangle have seen insurgency, while the degree of it might vary

▪️Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram used to be supplied weapons from Bangladesh
▪️A known politician of Khalida Zia's party BNP, was directly involved in arms supply to the insurgents
▪️Insurgents in Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal used to get arms from China, via Myanmar, and even training, in the Yunnan province of China, given the fact that cousin tribes of the tribes on our side or the border reside on the other side of the Indo Myanmar border.
▪️Even ULFA in Assam used to get its arms supplies from Bangladesh, thanks to ISI
▪️There is a third angle to it.
▪️Nepal has borders with West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar.
▪️The origin of Naxal maoist movement, Naxalbari village, in west bengal, shares borders with Jhapa district of Nepal.

▪️Now that the maoist insurgency in Nepal is over, what stops their arms from spilling over to the eastern states and the insurgents get hold on them, given the fact that government of India is trying its best to dry out their sources of arms and ammunition from Myanmar and Bangladesh.
▪️China too, can supply those insurgents with arms, via Nepal, thanks to the open borders.
▪️One of the ways to kill this threat before it grows bigger, is to have tight hold on the Nepalese border regions with India (Terai belt)
▪️Kishanganj district, a hotbed of arms trafficking, might as well threaten the stability in eastern states furthermore, and how do we know that it is not happening now?

The legislative council of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement elected Naim Qassem as its new secretary general, the movement announced on Tuesday.
