Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited (SDAL) successfully conducted trials of its hybrid VTOL UAV 'Rudrastra' at the Pokharan Firing Range on June 11, 2025. Emergency teams are actively engaged in evacuating injured passengers from the crashed Air India aircraft in Ahmedabad. Several individuals have been transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care. Firefighting crews remain on the scene as the situation continues to be critical.

Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is reportedly among the passengers on the Air India flight that crashed in Ahmedabad.

SITREP: DGCA Issues Update on Air India Crash in Ahmedabad

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has released details following the crash of an Air India flight near Ahmedabad Airport.

Flight Details:
The aircraft departed from Ahmedabad's Runway 23 at 13:39 IST (08:09 UTC).

Emergency Sequence:
Shortly after takeoff, the crew issued a MAYDAY call. However, no further communication was received from the aircraft. Moments later, it crashed just outside the airport perimeter. Thick black smoke was seen rising from the crash site.

Rescue and firefighting teams are on the ground, and emergency operations are underway. The DGCA confirmed the aircraft lost contact after the distress signal was issued.
