Overall, bitcoin has been technically working through all support and resistance levels in recent days. The asset failed to consolidate above $21 700, so its value began to decline, and a more than noticeable local downtrend has formed on the chart. 📃Chainalysis: 90% of DAO governance tokens are held by 1% of organizations’ members

🔍Analysts at Chainalysis have found that in several large decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), less than 1% of all holders own 90% of governance tokens. Experts note that if at least some of the large holders work together, in theory, they can vote against the remaining 99% of the community members in making any decision. A large concentration of votes in a small part of users contradicts the very principles of decentralization, analysts believe.

⚠️Tether CTO accused hedge funds of attacking the USDT stablecoin

📢Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino said that some hedge funds have been trying to collapse the economy of the USDT stablecoin. According to him, with the perpetual contracts and the opening short positions on spot markets, the funds were creating imbalances in DeFi pools. Ardoino explained that they expected to create significant selling pressure to further redeem the asset at a much lower price. Tether CTO noted that the attempts were unsuccessful and financial institutions will now have to buy back the stablecoin at its proper value in order to pay off loan arrears to implement the attack.

Ex-Coinbase exec called the possible timeline for crypto market recovery

🤔Former exec of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Tom Loverro believes it could take many months for the digital asset market to fully recover. In his opinion, cryptocurrency rates have not yet bottomed out and will continue to decline in 2022. Loverro explained that a quick rebound like in 2020 is impossible because the current situation is not shaped by a black swan like the COVID-19 pandemic, but by the tightening monetary policy of the US Federal Reserve System (Fed) amid rising inflation.

📢Brian Brooks, CEO of Bitfury Group, shared his views on cryptocurrencies and market volatility during the Aspen Ideas Festival. According to him, the main goal of cryptocurrencies is not to replace fiat money, but to create an alternative system of transmitting value by forming networks in which control belongs to users, not to the management of banks.
