Congratulations to Judge Pennell on her new appointment in WA's Eastern District. Thank you to @PattyMurray for recommending her for the federal bench. I appointed Rebecca to the WA state Court of Appeals in 2015 and it's exciting to see her promoted.

I am most gratified that the Republic of Korea’s democracy has been upheld, including due to Assemblymembers’ courage to stand up for it. Korea and America are bonded as strong democracies, and the valor shown by Koreans yesterday is a needed inspiration for everyone.
Disreputable right-wing media don't usually get under my skin, but that is the case when they suggest I have plans to move to Idaho after I leave office. Washington already has the best potatoes anyway.

David Bonderman was a talented entrepreneur who gave us all something to cheer for by bringing a professional hockey team to Seattle. https://t.co/rjYOSAGAMo
David’s generous support for UW and his commitment to conservation and the environment made him a force for good here in Washington. He’s left behind a legacy his family can be proud of.
There are many reasons to reflect on the legacy of former President Jimmy Carter. One is the vision he had for renewable energy that is now being realized. Reagan took down Carter’s White House solar panels, but now they are sprouting up all over the country.
I've directed state agencies to lower flags to half-staff for a period of 30 days in honor of President Jimmy Carter's life and legacy. All Washingtonians are encouraged to join in commemorating his remarkable career in public service.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau deserves credit for his leadership on climate change, relationships with Indigenous communities, and standing with Ukraine in the defense of democracy. He was a great partner whose service we will miss. Bonne Chance Justin Trudeau.
The risk to democracy underlying the attack on the U.S. Capitol (and our governor’s residence) four years ago remains with us. Today Congress was allowed to oversee a peaceful transfer of power. If that’s something we value, we can never forget the lessons of Jan. 6, 2021.
Glad to be working with Gov. Newsom and helping CA, ravaged repeatedly by the effects of climate change. The fact we won’t have a president who helps, rather than one who takes every chance to politicize every tragedy, means we must pull harder together.

‘We’re in a New Era’: How Climate Change Is Supercharging Disasters

“Extreme weather events — deadly heat waves, floods, fires and hurricanes — are the consequences of a warming planet, scientists say.”

Medical misinformation is deadly. SCOTUS has made clear that states like Washington have the right to hold accountable doctors who engage in this practice. RFK Jr.’s war on sound medical advice won’t inhibit our ability to protect patients.
