Crypto Threat?! Lawsuits RAIN DOWN from Regulators in Legal Crackdown (Report)

Cryptocurrency firms are reportedly battling for lobbyists in the last few weeks after regulators threaten them with lawsuits or cease-and-desist orders. (Bloomberg)

Nearly a third of new registrations for lobbyists in the finance industry in August and September were for crypto firms or advocacy groups, according to Senate filings. With regulators focussing on crypto lending firms, who sometimes offer depositors double-digit yields.

A group of Investor Advocates told the SEC Chair on Monday that many cryptocurrency firms are FLOUTING investor protection rules and deserve more scrutiny – Coinbase already abandoning their lending product last Friday.

Crypto advocates in Washington said they hope cases make it to court, so that a judge, rather than agency employees, can determine what’s in bound for the firms.

Venezuelan VP Claims CYBERATTACKS on Central Bank Were EXECUTED in US (Report)

VP Delcy Rodriguez described the cyberattacks on the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) as a “terrorist attack” that went “straight to the heart of the Venezuelan financial system” and its “14 million users” – declaring the breach originated from America. (Telesur)

The Venezuelan govt stated last Friday a cyberattack had taken place on the “technological platform” of BCV on Sep. 15. Attempts to breach BCV’s security reportedly continued throughout last week – forcing the bank to suspend its operations.

Rodriguez added the hack aimed to “disrupt economic activities” – alluding that the attackers wanted to hinder the implementation of the digital Bolivar and the change in currency denomination, due to take place in October.

Two More UK Energy Firms COLLAPSE as Rocketing Energy Prices Cause Market Chaos (Report)

Avro Energy and Green, both imploded today after a jump in natural gas prices pushed the energy sector to the brink leaving 800,000 customers in a state of limbo.
