TOTAL BLACKOUT within DAYS, warns Lebanon power company

Lebanon’s state electricity company has announced the entire country could be swallowed in a total power blackout next week, after it revealed it's down to its last remaining fuel stocks.

“The network already experienced total blackouts across the country seven times and if this continues there is a high risk of reaching total and complete blackout by the end September,” read the Electricite Du Liban statement.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has said it cannot bear to “watch the suffering of the Lebanese people” and has offered to supply reserve fuel, with Lebanon’s two largest power plants shut down in July.
