Utah School District Bans “Politically Charged” BLM, Pride Flags
A northern Utah school district has prohibited teachers from displaying LGBTQ+ pride or Black Lives Matter flags in any classroom or building. (The Salt Lake Tribune)
A spokesperson confirmed the district's administrators think the flags bear political messages and they want every school to remain ‘neutral’ on cultural topics.
The call has outraged some community activists maintaining the flags are symbols of “love and acceptance.” But Williams argues that “No flags fly in our schools except for the flag of the United States of America.”
The move was announced last week... yet somehow, it's had very little media traction!

Republicans have blocked a Democrat-backed bill, leaving them just a few days to avert a govt shutdown and potential default on US debt obligations.
The stopgap bill fell short of the 60-vote threshold. It would have funded the Biden Admin till December 3, suspended the debt limit and directed funds for hurricane relief.

A three-judge panel in Manhattan has issued an order to lift a block on the vaccine mandate for teachers. A group of educators had attempted to call out its legality, but have ultimately lost.
With 12% of the city’s teachers unvaccinated, lawyers wrote that the city’s order will “leave teachers and paraprofessionals without the resources to pay rent, utilities, and other essentials,” and that, “The harm is imminent.”
The revelation comes as the clock stops ticking for health care workers who haven’t gotten the jab by midnight tonight. All unvaccinated hospital staff are to be replaced by the national guard or professionals from outside the state.
