Colombia arrests most-wanted drug lord Otoniel in jungle raid involving 500 troops & 22 choppers
Colombian special forces have captured notorious drug trafficker Dairo Antonio Usuga, known as Otoniel, during a massive operation on Saturday. The alleged boss of the much-feared Gulf Clan had been on the run for over a decade.
Around 500 troops and 22 helicopters were reportedly involved in the raid on Otoniel’s hideout in the jungle area of the Uraba region in the northwest of the country. The force was so overwhelming that even eight rings of security couldn’t save the drug lord from arrest this time.
The operation, in which one police officer lost his life, was carried out based on intelligence provided by the US and UK, according to the authorities.
Otoniel’s arrest “is the biggest blow against drug trafficking in our country this century. This hit is only comparable to the fall of Pablo Escobar in the 1990s,” Colombian President said.

Turkish lira hits all-time low against the dollar after Erdogan seeks expulsions
The Turkish lira has weakened to a record low of 9.85 against the dollar on Monday, after President Tayyip Erdogan announced he'd ordered widespread ambassadorial expulsions of the US and nine other Western countries.
The lira has fallen 24% so far this year, with bankers saying the recent drop in value comes off the back of Erdogan's comments over the weekend.

Aussie cartoonist FIRED for comparing vaccine mandates to Tiananmen Square
A renowned Australian cartoonist and "living national treasure" has reportedly lost his prime spot in The Age daily, a Melbourne-based newspaper, for criticizing the govt's push for vaccination. Cartoonist Michael Leunig has claimed in The Australian that the editorial team censored dozens of his works this year, but the Tiananmen Sq. cartoon was the final straw.
While his cartoon was rejected by The Age, Leunig published the drawing on Instagram, triggering backlash from the proponents of vaccine mandates. Shortly after the controversy erupted, Leuning, who worked at the newspaper for over 20 years, was told that his services as a political cartoonist were no longer needed. The Age’s editor, Gay Alcorn, reportedly told the artist that he was "out of touch" with readers before notifying him of his dismissal.

Get Jabbed or Go... to FLORIDA? Gov. DeSantis offers $5,000 for unvaxxed police
Police officers who are losing their jobs in the US, because they have refused vaccine mandate, have been offered a way out and a bonus to move to the Sunshine State.
Florida is “actively working to recruit out-of-state law enforcement,” Ron DeSantis said on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, claiming Covid-19 vaccine mandates are “unconstitutional.” The governor said he is pushing to sign into legislation a $5K bonus for any officers willing to relocate.
RT has spoken to police officer and podcaster Zeek Arkham, who described what's happening now in the US with Covid restrictions a way to "defund the police..." while giving his backing to Florida's "great move" to pick up good cops who are losing their jobs.

Trump Jr sells Baldwin-mocking t-shirt after set shooting
Donald Trump Jr wasted no time mocking anti-gun advocate Alec Baldwin for shooting dead a cinematographer on set with memes - now he's doubling down by selling t-shirts at $27 a pop via his Instagram page.
He's photoshopped the actor wearing his merch, that reads "Guns don't kill people, Alec Baldwin kills people", after putting up inflammatory posts on Sunday.
"Let's watch Baldwin blame the gun," while another captioned a Baldwin photo with, "That look when an anti-gun nut kills more people with a gun than your extensive firearm collection ever has…”
Is Trump Jr out of bounds or turning rust to gold?
