I think I might be here to give hope. If we are meant to make it (big if), then there are countermeasures in place to mitigate or nullify the evil perpetrated. Stay with me for a sec:

DNA altered to fook you: most likely, somebody somewhere has your original sequence to restore you to your original state.

Tsunamis: doesn't matter where you are, but if your military is good, they likely have something to nullify it (like a Poseidon torpedo that could generate an opposite or nullifying tsunami). What happens when two waves collide? What if one is a bit smaller than the other?

Solar flares: what if there were a solar flare that could destroy orbital satellites? Well, if new military satellites (starlink, etc.) were deployed and able to come online after the others were bricked, everything will return to normalcy soon.

Super volcanoes: well, if we knew they were going to erupt and couldn't evacuate people without significant loss of life... maybe, just maybe, we shift the earth's crust intentionally to modify where they blow. In the process, the moon, sun, and stars aren't where they used to be in the sky.
