Raids Target 'Human Smuggling Networks' in Germany
Around 1,000 police officers have been involved in dozens of raids to bust a nationwide smuggling ring. (Euronews)
Searches focused on 20 suspects accused of bringing in temporary workers, from outside the EU, to work in large German logistics companies.
According to police, the smugglers operated a network of temporary employment agencies in the Balkans - millions of euros in assets have been seized.

Nazi father’s history haunts Chilean presidential frontrunner
The German-born father of the presidential candidate José Antonio Kast was once a member of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi party, a recently revealed identity card shows.
German officials this week confirmed Michael Kast, the presidential candidate’s dad, joined the National Socialist German Worker’s Party in September 1942.
Kast led the first round of Chile’s presidential election last month, two points ahead of left-wing candidate Gabriel Boric.
