Amtrak will be forced to cut services due to Biden’s vaccine mandate - CEO confirms

Amtrak’s travelers will face service cuts and delays this winter due to the Biden admin’s vaccine mandate, CEO Stephen Gardner told Congress Thursday.

“We will not initially have enough employees to operate all the trains we are currently operating when the federal mandate takes effect,” Gardner said of the January 4 vaccine deadline.

Amtrak estimates that approximately 1,200 of its workers are currently unvaccinated and service cuts would likely affect hundreds of thousands of travelers.
