In Kentucky alone, a series of powerful tornados claimed more than 70 lives, according to governor Andy Beshear.
Beshear described Friday night as “one of the toughest nights in Kentucky history,” adding that “some areas have been hit in ways that are hard to put into words.”

The Jetson ONE: World’s first commercially available “flying car”
The “personal electric aerial vehicle" is said to be capable of reaching 63 miles per hour and takes just five minutes to learn how to fly - at least according to the Swedish production company.
With a flight time of 20 minutes, Jetson says its craft has an altitude ceiling of 1,500 feet and can take off and land in your own back yard.
It doesn’t come cheap however, it will set you back $92,000 plus a $22K deposit just to secure one.
You might struggle to give someone else a lift though...

Prominent US billionaire forecasts new economic world order
China is winning the economic competition against the United States, according to Ray Dalio, the founder of the world’s largest hedge-fund firm, Bridgewater Associates.
When asked by the BBC on Thursday whether China was beating the US, Dalio said: “Yes, it’s winning.”
“Their growth rate at a slow level is about twice the Western world’s growth rate at a fast level.”
