❗️HK World Trade Center ABLAZE - 8 confirmed injured, hundreds TRAPPED
A massive fire has engulfed the World Trade Center in Hong Kong Wednesday and has already been upgraded to a level three incident after at least 8 people were injured and hospitalized according to HK police.
Authorities say firefighters have rescued around 150 people so far, with over 100 trapped on a rooftop terrace.
The fire reportedly broke out in an engine room and then spread to scaffolding on the outside of the 38-storey building that’s currently undergoing renovations.

Anubis Android malware targets hundreds of financial institutions in sophisticated phishing attacks
The infamous “Anubis” Android banking malware has returned to target customers of nearly 400 major financial institutions. (BleepingComputer)
Threat actors impersonate an Orange SA Android app which attempts to steal login credentials for cryptocurrency wallets and virtual payment platforms.
Anubis will pose as a financial form over the top of some legitimate apps, sending card details to attackers once the data is entered.

UK Prices Soar as Inflation Hits 10-Year High
Rising fuel and clothing prices drove a surge in inflation to its highest level in more than a decade, UK official figures show – the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increasing 5.1% in the 12 months to November.
The CPI figure exceeded the expectations of City analysts, who predicted 4.7%, and far outstripped the Bank of England’s (BoE) forecast of 4.5%.
The results will put pressure on the BoE to increase interest rates from a record low of 0.1% in its committee meeting Thursday. It would be the first rate rise since 2018 and the first large central bank to increase rates since the start of the pandemic.

Russia & China to create new financial system outside Western control – Kremlin
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping made a show of solidarity amid rising tensions between Moscow and the West Wednesday –speaking for just over an hour via video.
“I consider our relations a true model of interstate cooperation for the 21st century,“ Putin said, with Xi calling the Russian president an “old friend” and hailing the close relationship between the two countries.

A Ministry of Emergency Situations spox has confirmed 4 people have died in a factory fire in Kemerova Region at a facility belonging to the owners of the Listvyazhnaya mine where 51 workers tragically died last month. (Rossiiskaya Gazeta)
The Khimash plant belongs to the Siberian Business Union, whose president and co-founder Mikhail Fedyaev was detained after questioning about the Listvyazhnaya mine tragedy.

Chinese property crisis deepens as Shimao Group shares plummet
House price, sales and investment data released Wednesday shows China’s massive property market is still spiralling downwards just a day after fears of another developer offloading assets to fund repayments emerged.
House prices fell across the country by 0.3% month-on-month in November - worse than October’s 0.2% drop - while actual property sale values plummeted 16.31% in a fifth consecutive monthly drop.
Shimao Group share prices dropped 20% Tuesday. Meanwhile, a govt task force has arrived at Evergrande HQ to begin carving up the defaulted giant as its shares dropped another 10%.
