Balkan Blackouts: Kosovo Rolls Out Power Cuts as European Energy Crisis Deepens (Bloomberg)

The Balkan country will be rolling out two-hour blackouts for most consumers from Thursday as soaring gas and power prices as well as a severe winter cripple the continent.

Serbia was also forced to cut electricity to some consumers a fortnight ago, and Britain’s network operator issued a warning the UK could be facing shortages during winter.

The cuts come as energy prices soar in Europe ahead of the winter season with Gazprom reportedly not booking gas capacity for the FOURTH DAY in a row through the Yamal-Europe pipeline Thursday. (TASS)
