Belgium considering mandatory vaccination
Prime Minister Alexander De Croo is allegedly considering making vaccination mandatory as intensive care units struggle to serve the nation’s Covid sick. (Politico)
"The goal is clear: we must vaccinate everyone. If the path of mandatory vaccination can help, then I would like to consider it,” De Croo said in a statement.
The number of Covid patients in Belgian hospitals dropped below 2,000 at the weekend for the first time since November. However there are fears that with the Omicron variant, numbers will soon again soar.

Cyberattack Shuts Down Presses at Norway's Largest Local News Publisher - Just days after food producer hacked
Amedia, which has a reach of around 2.5MN people, has confirmed its central computers were targeted in a "serious" cyberattack.
The hack prevented Wednesday's physical edition of the newspaper being printed, and the following days will be halted too unless the issue is resolved.
Amedia's exec. VP said the attack has also impacted on advertising and subnoscriptions. It's unclear if personal data has been compromised.
It's the latest in a string of recent cyberattacks in Norway. One of the nation's largest food producers, Nortura, also had their IT systems shut down just before Christmas.

Zuckerberg continues to ‘colonize’ Hawaii: Including reservoir, site of deadly dam failure
Ignoring local outcry, Mark Zuckerberg has bought another 110 acres (about 1/2 a square kilometer) of land on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, which included a reservoir and a pristine forest.
The Meta/Facebook honcho and his wife now own 1,400 acres (5.5 square kilometers) of land on the island, much of it protected agricultural and conservation territory.
Zuckerberg has been accused of trying to ‘colonize’ the island since buying a mansion on it in 2014, and deciding to erect a wall to prevent other residents from accessing a local beach.
